Who we are
Quarry is developed by Mayank Gulaty in Dublin, Ireland. Contact: mayank@flowbitstudio.ie.
This policy covers the Quarry app. The website policy is the Flowbit Studio privacy policy. Booking on book.flowbitstudio.com is a separate site.
What Quarry collects
We do not collect data from Quarry. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. The privacy label is Data Not Collected, and that matches how the app works.
Practice works fully offline. Quarry makes no internet network calls while you practise. Your SQL and Python (pandas) are graded on the device.
What stays on your device
Everything is stored on the device: solved ticks and attempts, code drafts, settings, and Playground files. None of this is uploaded.
Reset Progress clears only solved ticks and attempts. It does not clear code drafts or Playground files. Playground files are visible in the Files app under Quarry. You can delete them in the app or in the Files app. Deleting the app removes what is stored on the device.
The local server
Quarry runs a small server on 127.0.0.1 so it can serve the engines bundled in the app. The loopback server is local only. It is not reachable from the network, and it sends nothing out.
The app uses the Swift package FlyingFox for that server, and it bundles the open-source engines DuckDB, Pyodide and CodeMirror. They run on the device and send nothing. There are no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs.
Links and the rating prompt
The Support and Privacy links in Settings open pages in Safari, so they need a connection. That is a normal browser visit. Quarry does not collect it.
StoreKit is used only for Apple's rating prompt, after the 5th and the 20th problem you solve for the first time. Apple handles the response. We do not see it.
If you email us
Contact: mayank@flowbitstudio.ie. If you email that address, we receive the address you write from and the message you send.
Children
Quarry is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. It has no accounts, no ads and no user-generated content shared with others.
Your rights
If the GDPR applies to you, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you can object to processing. Contact: mayank@flowbitstudio.ie. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland.
The personal data this policy covers is a support email you choose to send. Quarry itself collects nothing.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
